One of the nicest ways to travel to Vermont is by train from Penn Station in New York to Rutland. The Ethan Allen train travels north along the beautiful Hudson Valley to Albany. Then it turns east toward the Green Mountains and stops at the charming station in Castleton village. The journey to and from Castleton is made every day! We pick up and drop off guests at the station so you may not even need a car. You can relax at Applewood Manor take walks around our 33 acre property, in the village and along the rail trail. You can visit the Castleton Village Country store, the Birdseye Diner, or the Blue Cat Bistro for dinner. If you need a car, we can contact Enterprise to make arrangements. It’s a great opportunity to really get away from it all!
