Ralph and I would like to work with you to create a custom package for your Vermont getaway in winter, spring, summer, or in the fall. Train getaways are very popular from New York City. Ice-fishermen, shoppers, skiers and snowboarders enjoy our current specialty theme packages. We are happy to customize a package for couples getaways, families and last minute travel. If one of our packages takes your fancy, or you have an interest in another theme, please give us a call. We want to make sure your package takes full advantage of the area’s resources. We do the organizing; you have more time enjoying Vermont! Check back with us to see packages and specials that are new or seasonal to Vermont.
Train Travelers Package
The Ethan Allen passenger train travels each day from Penn Station, NY to Castleton Village train depot. The journey along the Hudson Valley is spectacular! We will pick you up and drop you off! It’s less than five minutes away. (If Amtrak says there are no seats, we recommend taking an earlier train to Albany and catching the Ethan Allen in Albany.) Enterprise will pick you up at Applewood Manor B&B to rent a car at their Rutland office, or you can hook up with Kelly at Vermont Backroad Tours to explore the sites and scenery of Central Vermont. Experience the road less traveled without having to navigate and drive! To travel by train and dine in style from NYC to Castleton aboard the Epicurus, a 1950’s Pullman Dining Car, visit Rail and Cruise Travel or call Peter Calleo at (800) 292-7245.
Horse Lovers Package
Whether you’re a novice or experienced horseback rider, enjoy spending time with equine friends during the spring, summer or fall in lovely Vermont. Pond Hill Ranch, the largest horse owner east of the Mississippi, offers trail rides and lessons at very reasonable prices and on Saturday evenings in the summer, the rodeo is great fun.
History Lovers Package
Have a great time staying in a richly historic home and exploring places of unique historic importance. Enjoy taking the ferry ride across southern Lake Champlain to visit Fort Ticonderoga and the King’s Gardens. Take a guided tour of Hubbardton Battlefield, the only battle fought on Vermont soil. The setting is beautiful, and it’s one of the best kept secrets in Vermont.
Lake Fishing Package
The Lakes Region of Vermont and Lake Champlain offer some of the best fishing in the US! Ralph and I share business with local fishing guides: Rod Start, Nate Laskiewicz and Chuck Kashner. Rod has a great reputation and guests have enjoyed their days with him on Lake Bomoseen and Lake Champlain. His web site is www.greenmtnguide.com. We are fortunate to know Nate Laskiewicz of Vermont Lakes Region Fishing Service. Exciting news – Nate is a TV celebrity on his show, Lakes Region Fishing. Here’s the link for more info. www.LakesRegionFishing.com Nate is a licensed captain and licensed guide who knows how to fish the local lakes for bass, northern pike, and other warm water species. Chuck Kashner is also a great fishing guide and here’s a link to his site. www.vermontfishingtrips.com Whether expert or novice, rod or fly, you will have a great time out on the water catching fish with Nate or Chuck.
